Smile with stickers

I've made this page as my "mid-month inspiration" over on the Modscraps blog. I've been playing with the lovely range of stickers by Sassafras Lass. Check out the details here.

Learning more new things

I've finally got round to working on some more pages for Shimelle's Learn Something New Every Day class. I've been writing down notes every day but haven't found a gap in the schedule to scrap them. Here's my latest batch...

Day 6 - the ginger one loves making up words

Day 7 - the photo turn arrows should be pointing at 8.30 but they swung around to 6 when I stood the book up!

Day 8 - Too many ideas, not enough time...

Day 9 - We went to see the Barenaked Ladies today - great band, great music, great evening!

Day 10 - I've made the same quilts for various babies over the past couple of years and I think I want to try a new pattern next time...

Day 11 - I'm so excited about getting in touch with a friend I've not seen in ages that I had to put it in

Day 12 - The ginger one wears fancy dress to school, to church, to the beach, etc etc, but if you can't do that when you're little, when can you!

Day 13 - Getting back into term time routine after the chaos of the summer...

More pages coming soon...

65 things of summer

I've been working on a double layout this week to record all the things we did this summer. To see more about these pages, check out my post on Bubbly Scrumptious here. If you click on the picture above, it will show the pages in more detail.

Sketchy fun

I enjoyed playing with sketches earlier in the week and I'm determined to work through my stack of photos (some are still waiting to be scrapped from last Christmas) and so I've been looking out for more sketches.

I started with Katy's sketch from Bubbly Scrumptious and here is my page...

I'm really pleased with it and I'm learning to be more critical of my pages as I'm working on them so that I remove something and try again if I don't like it rather than rushing on as I feel in a hurry. I redid my title here as I didn't like the stickers I had originally used (thankfully they peeled off easily and I can use them again) and I took a little time to add the eyelets too.

This is my second page which is based on Sketch #067 from Twisted Sketches...

I'm gettting the hang of using mists on pages now. I've just got some Maya Mists and they are so much better than the Cosmic Shimmers that I've had before. They are much easier to use to get a fine spray. The "twist" this week with that goes with the sketch was buttons and I think they work well on the layout.

Away with the fairies

I was looking at the Maya Road Design Team blog for inspiration and I was drawn to the fantastic project " Turning a pumpkin into an elephant" ! It made me wonder what I could make with my chipboard pieces and here's what I came up with - my little fairy. To see how she's put together, check out my post for this week over on Bubbly Scrumptious.

And the point is...

I'm feeling quite overwhelmed by the huge stack of photos waiting to be scrapped after our busy summer. I'm finding that sketches really help me work quite quickly, as I have already sorted out my photos into mini kits. I lay all the photos out across the lounge floor and then match up patterned papers, stickers, rub-ons, embellishments and then put each set into a separate bag so that I have it all to hand if I find I have a spare hour to squeeze in some crafting.
I've been working with last week's sketch by Sarah over on Bubbly Scrumptious and this is my layout.
I really like Katy's sketch this week too, so I'll have a go at that soon.
Continuing on with my New Year's resolution of getting more creative - I've just signed up for a new online class called Clearly Creative with Prima over at My Creative Classroom. It starts at the end of this month and it looks really interesting with lots of products I know nothing about!

A party of cards

I've been playing with the Paisley Road papers from Prima this week to make cards for the many birthdays our family and friends have this month - I've only just worked through the first few names on the list. To see more of the details, click here for the Bubbly Scrumptious blog.
